What we work on in sessions

Our sessions adapt to your treatment cycles and how you feel that day. We build gradually so you finish feeling better, not wiped out, and we work safely around PICC/ports, recent scars and lymphoedema risk. On low-immunity days, we switch to low-exposure options or online.

Strength

Joint-friendly strength to rebuild muscle lost during treatment and make daily tasks easier: getting up from a chair, taking the stairs, carrying shopping. We respect surgical precautions and bone-health concerns and add load step by step, so you feel steadier doing real-life things.

Heart and metabolic health

Mobility

Gentle mobility to ease tightness from surgery, radiotherapy or long rests. We focus on comfortable range and posture so dressing, reaching and turning feel smoother. Where needed, we include shoulder/chest mobility and scar-aware positions.

Cardiovascular

Short walks and easy intervals to build stamina and manage fatigue. We include warm-ups and cool-downs and pace sessions to your symptoms and recovery, adjusting around treatment cycles and tougher days.

Balance

Targeted balance and stability so you feel secure on your feet, especially if weakness or treatment-related neuropathy is in the mix. Safer steps indoors and out, with confidence for everyday outings.

How our cancer rehabilitation works

A simple plan, steady support and clear safety checks. We start gently and build at your pace, at home or online.

Initial consultation and assessment

We discuss your diagnosis, treatment stage, and any precautions. Then, we do a quick movement check in your everyday clothes to set clear priorities. If you have a PICC/port, drains, or lymphoedema risk, we plan around them.

Personalised plan

We map out the next few weeks with light strength, simple mobility, short walks and sensible pacing. Warm-ups, cool-downs, and comfort work are included as needed. There are clear rest days, so sessions help you feel better, not exhausted.

One-to-one sessions

Typically 60 minutes, weekly or fortnightly. We adapt on the day for fatigue, soreness or nausea and respect any post-op precautions. Sessions are predictable, with plenty of breaks, and a carer is welcome if you’d like support.

Simple home practice

Short, easy exercises and gentle walks to keep progress going between sessions. Clear written or video prompts if you’d like them. No special kit needed, we can use everyday items at home.

Progress you can see

We track straightforward checks like comfortable walking time or distance, sit-to-stand reps, shoulder range, balance time and how your energy lasts across the day. We review every 6-8 weeks and update your plan.

Ready to begin? We’ll make the first step easy. Contact us or call 020 8226 0034.

Joined-up care

With your permission, we can coordinate with your oncology team, surgeon, physio or lymphoedema nurse. If you have new or worsening symptoms (fever during treatment, chest discomfort, unusual breathlessness, dizziness), we pause and follow clinical advice first.

Who we support

Whether you’re at diagnosis, in treatment or rebuilding afterwards, we offer one-to-one cancer rehabilitation that matches how you feel that day. We work with adults of any age, from new diagnoses to those who want to stay active and independent, with sessions paced to your energy, symptoms and treatment schedule.

Prehabilitation (before treatment or surgery)

Build strength and stamina, learn pacing and breathing, and get set for a smoother recovery.

During treatment

Keep moving to manage fatigue and stiffness. We adapt around low-immunity days, nausea and appointments.

After surgery

Step-by-step return to everyday movement. Shoulder/chest mobility where needed, and safe work around PICC/ports, drains and movement precautions.

After treatment

Rebuild strength, mobility and confidence at a steady pace so walks, stairs and daily tasks feel easier again.

Living well long term (survivorship)

Stay active and independent with simple routines you can keep up, tailored to your goals and health.

“Nadia has been an incredible support through some really big life events. She doesn’t just focus on the exercise; she always takes the time to listen and genuinely reassure me. She’s helped me understand some confusing medical results and has been a huge source of emotional support while waiting for appointments. Our sessions are always perfectly balanced – I get the movement I need without ever feeling exhausted. I always leave feeling completely at ease and supported.”

Felicity

“After treatment and my myscetomy, I felt weak and was nervous about moving my upper body and doing weights. Longevity‘s team understood my restrictions and created a plan to suit me. They always made me feel heard and would take the time to check in on how I was feeling each session and reassure me throughout.”

What progress can look like

Felicity initially came to us to build her strength and maintain her independence at home. Her goals shifted when she was diagnosed with cancer, changing her journey from a physical one to one that was more holistic and supportive.

Our program was immediately tailored to her changing needs. We provided emotional support and guidance to help her prepare for surgery and understand the steps ahead.

Felicity

Lin came to us ready to get strong again after finishing her breast cancer treatment and having a mastectomy. She just wanted to feel stronger, but she had big hurdles to jump. Her upper body movement was limited, she had to be careful about lymphedema, and we urgently needed to improve her Bone Mineral Density (BMD), which often takes a hit from cancer treatments.

Lin

Amanda, aged 54, was undergoing active treatment for lymphoma and wanted to remain safely active despite the physical and emotional challenges that chemotherapy can bring. At the start, she was experiencing significant fatigue linked to treatment cycles, fluctuating energy levels, reduced strength, and uncertainty around what exercise was safe or appropriate during this stage of her care.
