Ali

Ali is an accredited clinical exercise physiologist at Longevity Health and Fitness. She has experience working with clients from a wide range of clinical backgrounds and has a particular passion working in neurological rehabilitation, balance-specific training, joint rehabilitation and healthy ageing.

Originally from Sydney, Australia, Ali has experience working in a large team and values strong collaboration with other healthcare and medical providers. This enables her to deliver a comprehensive, client-centred approach to those she works with. Ali aims to help individuals feel comfortable and confident engaging in exercise, especially those who may be new to it or are returning after some time away. She believes that exercise can be adapted and made appropriate for every individual, and has a strong focus on an individualised approach to ensure her clients can reach their goals while taking their medical history into account.

Success stories

After experiencing sudden changes to her balance and speech, Antonia was admitted to hospital, where a series of tests and a prolonged period of uncertainty eventually led to a diagnosis of an autoimmune condition. Following this, she also developed sepsis, which significantly impacted her physical function.

As her condition progressed, Antonia lost the ability to walk and speak, with the right side of her body most affected.

After being knocked over at the airport, 86-year-old Dennis experienced a noticeable decline in his strength and balance. Previously very active and independent, he suddenly found that everyday movements felt less stable, and he was no longer able to keep up with his usual home strength sessions.

What had once felt simple, moving confidently, maintaining his routine, and keeping up with daily demands, began to feel more effortful.

Helen, in her mid-60s, came to us experiencing ongoing knee and shoulder pain that had gradually started to limit her day-to-day life. Activities she once enjoyed, including swimming, long walks and spending extended time on her feet, had become increasingly difficult, and she found herself avoiding movement for fear of making things worse.

She had tried different exercises on her own but struggled to find anything that didn’t aggravate her joints.
