Niamh
Niamh is a Clinical Trainer at Longevity Health and Fitness, with an MSc in Clinical Exercise Science and a passion for helping people improve their health, fitness and confidence through exercise.
She takes an individualised approach to training, adapting sessions around each client’s needs, abilities and goals. She enjoys helping clients build strength, improve cardiovascular fitness, develop better balance and mobility, and feel more confident in their movement.
Niamh has experience working in clinical exercise and exercise referral settings, where she has supported clients through individualised exercise programmes and used a range of assessments to understand their starting point and monitor progress. She particularly enjoys seeing how improvements in exercise capacity, strength and movement can translate into greater confidence and independence in everyday life.
She also incorporates elements of Pilates into her sessions where appropriate, using exercises to support core control, balance and body awareness.
Before moving into clinical exercise, Niamh worked as a carer, which has shaped her kind, patient and understanding approach to working with clients. She understands that everyone has different needs and that exercise can sometimes feel daunting, particularly when someone is managing changes to their health or returning to activity after time away.
Niamh is passionate about making exercise feel achievable and purposeful, while helping clients recognise their own progress and build confidence in what they are capable of.
