Michael

Michael is a Physiotherapist at Longevity Health and Fitness with a background spanning NHS healthcare, private physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, and elite sport. Having worked across musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, neurosurgical, elderly care, specialist medicine, and critical care services, including frontline clinical practice in Central London hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic, Michael brings extensive experience supporting people through illness, injury, surgery, and age-related physical decline. His focus is on helping clients build strength, confidence, and long-term physical independence through exercise-based rehabilitation.

Michael works with a wide range of clients, from older adults looking to maintain mobility, function, and quality of life, through to individuals recovering from injury or surgery and those aiming to return to higher levels of physical activity. His approach combines physiotherapy assessment, exercise prescription, and strength training principles to create practical programmes that improve not only symptoms, but long-term physical capacity and resilience.

What differentiates Michael’s approach is his experience across the entire continuum from rehabilitation to high performance. Alongside his physiotherapy career, he is a qualified Personal Trainer, Performance Enhancement Specialist, and Corrective Exercise Specialist. His experience spans the full pathway from grassroots participation to elite sport, including leading physiotherapy provision for the UK’s leading basketball academy programme, coaching in the top professional league in the UK, working with England and Great Britain national teams, and supporting athletes at European and World Championships. This unique combination of clinical and performance experience allows him to understand both how to restore function and how to develop it, whether working with someone recovering from a joint replacement or an athlete preparing for competition.

Michael has particular interests in strength-based rehabilitation, lower limb injuries, exercise programming for long-term health conditions, and injury prevention. He believes exercise is one of the most powerful tools available to improve health outcomes and is passionate about helping people move better, stay active, and maintain independence throughout life.

Rati is an exceptionally good trainer in every way.

She always starts with a warm-up session at the beginning and ends with some stretching, and all her exercises are extremely well thought out and beneficial.
As well as being highly professional, Rati is also a delightfully pleasant, friendly and calm presence.
