Margaret initially came to us seeking assistance before an upcoming complete knee reconstruction surgery. Knowing that pre-operative fitness is crucial for a smoother recovery, her primary goal was to establish a targeted program to significantly strengthen her lower limbs for both the operation and the rehabilitation period to follow.
Over time, great focus has been on consistent, progressive home-based exercises. This allowed Margaret to safely build foundational strength and integrate training seamlessly into her routine. We focused on movements that would be critical for post-operative function, such as managing the range of joints and strengthening the entirety of the lower limb, not just focusing on the knee, ensuring every session contributed to her resilience.
Now, as her surgery date approaches, Margaret is feeling strong and far better prepared. Through this regular strength work, she has achieved measurable improvements, such as walking up and down stairs with noticeable ease. Most importantly, she is now confident going into the surgery, knowing that her pre-rehab efforts will make her recovery less demanding and more comfortable. Margaret’s success is a great reminder of why getting ahead with pre-rehab preparation truly pays off.
