Mohammed

Mohammed began working with Longevity Health & Fitness shortly after experiencing a stroke, with intervention starting approximately one month into his recovery. At this stage, the main challenge was reduced mobility on the left side of his body, significantly impacting his independence.

Mohammed’s primary goal was to restore as much mobility and movement as possible in both his arm and leg, with a strong focus on regaining independence in daily life. Improving overall mobility, balance, and confidence in his physical abilities was central to his recovery journey.

Training took place in weekly 1-1 sessions, with a focus on rebuilding foundational strength across both the upper and lower body. Sessions also incorporated cardiovascular work to support overall health and recovery, alongside targeted balance training to reduce fall risk and improve stability. A progressive and carefully controlled approach was taken throughout, ensuring all movements were appropriate for his stage of recovery and ability level.

Over the course of four months, Mohammed made meaningful progress in both strength and functional movement. He is now able to go for assisted walks outdoors and is also using the stairs with support, marking a significant improvement in his day-to-day independence. Alongside these functional gains, he reports feeling noticeably stronger and more capable in his movements.

Progress was supported by consistent engagement in sessions, although the journey was not without challenges. At one stage, Mohammed experienced hip pain, which required attention through targeted rehabilitation work and adjustments to training. Alongside this, confidence levels fluctuated at times, particularly when introducing new or more demanding movements, and this became an important focus within sessions.
