Kamlesh first joined Longevity over a year ago when she was facing a severe decline in her mobility and independence due to the debilitating pain caused by Arthritis throughout her body. She initially presented with limited mobility – barely being able to rise from a chair, had a shuffling gait and was unable to lift arms above shoulder height due to pain and stiffness.
Through consistent sessions, we focused on gentle mobilisation and pain relief, while building her confidence in pain-free positions. Slowly but surely, Kamlesh began to regain movement. From walking over small hurdles with hand-on-hand assistance to climbing stairs, her progress was great. Though her journey was not linear, a bout of shingles set her back.
During this time, a focus shifted to managing fatigue and pain while maintaining her strength and spirit. Slowly, we rebuilt Kamalesh back to where she is today – walking outdoors, performing sit-to-stand exercises and step-ups.
We’re still working towards full recovery, but her transformation is a great reminder of what’s possible with patience, persistence and personalised care throughout different stages.
